Valiant has partnered with a number of angel investors and venture capital firms, notably Reinventure and H2 Ventures, to successfully raise $800,000 capital, which the co-founders intend to use to “grow and scale Australian operations”.

Valiant is an online platform designed to streamline business loans for small to medium enterprises (SME), and was founded by Alex Molloy and Richard Cotton in November 2015.

Alternative financing options have seen massive growth over recent years, with KPMG figures indicating an increase of 320 per cent in 2015 alone.

Reinventure managing director Simon Cant noted that SME loans had also experienced significant growth.

“The SME lending market has grown faster than any other loan market, however with large variation in rates and products on offer, it remains a complex space to navigate for small to medium businesses looking for finance,” he said.
