Appointment, digital handshake

The outgoing chief executive and board chairman for IXUP Tim Ebbeck welcomed Peter Leihn to the organisation and said he looked forward to working with him.

“I am excited to have Peter join the IXUP team and look forward to working with him, both through an orderly transition and in my capacity as non-executive chairman,” he said.

Mr Leihn has worked in senior technology roles for 25 years and will take over from acting chief executive Tim Ebbeck in November.

Mr Ebbeck said that Mr Leihn was the perfect candidate for the role given his industry knowledge and connections.

“Peter’s domain expertise, leadership, commercial skills and established industry, government, and international network provide the definitive skill-set to drive the business forward,” he said.

A graduate from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Mr Leihn has most recently worked as global head of commercial for Data61, the CSIRO specialist data and technology innovator.

Mr Leihn led the commercialisation of Data61’s capabilities and was responsibly for driving growth for the company.

His roles prior to Data61 included director of the office of the chief scientist for NSW and a career with Hewlett-Packard and Autodesk.

IXUP founder and executive director Dean Joscelyne said that he looked forward to working with Mr Leihn and thanked the acting chief executive for his hard work.
“Peter is ideally placed to promote IXUP’s unique trusted data collaboration platform which disrupts the traditional data sharing model,” he said.
