Fintech inquiry to report back in 2021

Andrew Bragg, chair of the select committee on financial technology and regulatory technology wrote a letter to president of the Senate, senator Scott Ryan, asking for the extension, which has been approved amid coronavirus volatility.

The reporting date has been moved from the first sitting day in October to 16 April 2021.

The committee reopened submissions from industry following its last round of hearings in February, in light of the pandemic unfolding in Australia.

It asked fintechs to give input on what the critical needs of the sector are during the period, in the short, medium and long-term, including post-recovery.

Submissions are open until 10 April.
