US bank regulator wades into fintech

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has been quietly gathering information from banks and fintech firms for the past year to prepare a so-called white paper on new companies as well as their developing relationships with banks.

The white paper is expected to come out soon, the agency’s chief counsel, Amy Friend, said Thursday during a fintech conference in Washington.
