Lombard Risk Management has appointed Colm Gaughran to take on the role of country manager of Australia and New Zealand, based in Sydney.

Mr Gaughran, a charted financial analyst (CFA) with 20 years' experience, will service the Australian authorised deposit-taking institution (ADI) clients of Lombard Risk that are looking to meet APRA's new regulatory requirements.

"Demand [for regtech solutions] in Australia is in part being driven by APRA overhauling its core regulatory reporting requirements for the first time in 15 years," said a statement by Lombard.

Lombard chief executive Alastair Brown said, "Australia and New Zealand are strategically important to our global growth and, as part of the expansion, we are building a team of talented people to work in the region.

"We are delighted that Colm will bring his vast experience and knowledge to lead the next phase of our development."
