Hobart-based MyState Bank has made Samsung Pay available on its compatible devices, including the Gear S3 smartwatch and the Galaxy and S8+ smartphones.

A statement by the bank said the introduction of Samsung Pay is another "significant milestone" in MyState's strategy to use the latest online and digital technology.

"Offering Samsung Pay means MyState customers with Samsung devices don’t have to carry their wallets or cash to make a purchase. Customers can buy what they want when they want through the convenience of their mobile device," said MyState general manager for product and marketing Chris Thornton.
